We wish our customers a peaceful and joyous festive season. Fighting 15s is now closed until 29 December, when we are briefly able to pick up the reins again until the new year intervenes. Orders placed from 19 December may not, therefore, be dispatched until the new year.
In the Sharpe books, to commemorate the capture by Lieutenant Sharpe of a French eagle at Talavera, the South Essex regiment won the right to depict a French eagle in chains on its colours. Our flags designer has interpreted this idea, and the Eagle in Chains is now available in the Flags for AB range for a short time only.
Because we know how wargamers love to duplicate periods across figure sizes, this sheet of paper flags has regimental and King’s colours suitable for wargames figures in 15mm and 28mm sizes (four flags total). The regimental colour depicts the Eagle in Chains on a yellow field; the King’s colour is a standard Union flag with badge and wreath.
The flags are available separately in the online shop at a cost of GBP2.00 per sheet.
The flags are also available free when you buy a special South Essex battalion consisting of 30 or 40 15mm AB British infantry in marching or in order arms poses. Limit of one set of flags per customer.
An unexpected and serious illness in my immediate family means I may not always be able to answer emails promptly or be available on the phone. Please bear with me: I am trying to work as normally as possible.
My wife has acute myeloid leukaemia and is in hospital on the UK mainland: visiting her takes up a huge chunk of my week. I am currently running Fighting 15s part-time, and I typically manage to work three out of five working days a week.
Now we are over the shock, we are both optimistic about the outcome of treatment. The good news is that Janet is responding well to her second course of chemotherapy, and that I hope to have her back over Christmas before she has to go back to hospital for the next course. Not having to travel to Southampton for a week or so will also give me time to catch up with both home life and the business.
During this time, if you absolutely must get hold of me to talk about toy soldiers and there is no answer on the main number, please ring my mobile number: 07790 984949 during my normal working hours. My mobile may be in silent mode if I am required at the hospital, and I will not be able to take orders. Otherwise, please leave a message, name and contact number on the usual Fighting 15s number (01983 752014), which has an answering service: I will get back to you as soon as I am able, possibly days later. If I forget, please give me a gentle reminder; I have lots on my mind and am bound to lose track of some requests or messages.
I will answer emails as and when I am able; again, this may be days later.

Eureka’s French infantry in its 28mm Wars of the French Revolution range are now cast under licence in the UK by Fighting 15s. We have licensed moulds for all but the ragged voltigeurs and the Arcola set, and as a result can now cast figures to order, reducing the time it takes to fulfil orders as we no longer have to obtain stock from Australia.
Figures are GBP1.40 per foot figure and GBP3.00 per mounted figure with horse. Prices include VAT at 15%. The figures are available to buy now in the Fighting 15s online shop.
Fighting 15s also offers a special 36-piece battalion deal for GBP45.00 inc VAT, a saving of GBP5.40 on the total price of the figures if bought individually. The battalion, using the organisation for 1792 to 1803, comprises 26 fusiliers , 4 grenadiers, 1 mounted officer and horse, 2 officers, 1 standard bearer and 1 drummer. Variants are provided at random. Battalions are available in full uniform or ragged uniform.
